A number of Polymarket accounts made profitable bets just before President Trump's military actions. These accounts placed significant wagers on the likelihood of a U.S. attack against Iran shortly before it occurred. Similar patterns were observed before other Trump administration military actions.

A dozen anonymous accounts on the crypto-based prediction marketplace Polymarket placed nearly $67,000 in bets that the White House would attack Iran before a Saturday. These accounts, identified by the Financial Times, profited approximately $330,000. Half the wagers were placed within six hours of the attack, and most of the accounts were created within the week prior.

Matt Saincome, CEO of Unusual Whales, noted the suspicious nature of new wallets making large bets on single issues, suggesting potential insider information. This isn't the first instance of Polymarket accounts profiting from bets placed just before Trump administration military actions. For example, odds of Nicolas Maduro's removal from office were at 9% just before his capture by U.S. forces. Six accounts, created shortly before this event, placed around $10,000 on Maduro's downfall and earned $133,878. A seventh account made $404,222 on other Maduro-related markets.

Key Takeaways:

  • Multiple Polymarket accounts profited from bets placed right before President Trump's military actions against Iran.
  • The timing and size of the bets raised suspicions of insider information.
  • Similar betting patterns occurred before other Trump administration military actions, such as the capture of Nicolas Maduro.
