Van Dyke was involved in the operation to capture Maduro in January and reportedly accessed classified information to profit on the prediction market site Polymarket. The Justice Department has charged him with unlawful use of confidential government information, theft of non-public government information, commodities fraud, wire fraud, and making an unlawful monetary transaction. If convicted, he could face years in prison.
