George Santos is being investigated by the DOJ and CFTC for allegedly betting against his own attendance at the State of the Union while publicly claiming he would attend. His account was suspended by Kalshi after the trades were flagged.
The former congressman reportedly made trades on prediction market Kalshi that contradicted his public statements about attending President Trump's State of the Union address. Kalshi suspended Santos's account and referred the matter to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Department of Justice. Sources indicate that Santos earned tens of thousands of dollars by misleading bettors regarding his plans for February.
