CoinDesk found that trades near $5,499 made up 57% of the ether perpetual-futures volume it sampled on Kalshi from September 17 to 20. The finding concerns sampled volume, not a single trade or all exchange activity.
The analysis covered 3,450 ether perpetual-futures trades across 23 one-hour samples; trades within $2 of $5,499 accounted for $7.7 million of the $13.5 million analyzed. Kalshi said the recurring orders came from one market maker, with hundreds of traders on the other side, and said it found no evidence of collusion or wash trading. Public trade data does not identify participants and cannot independently verify those account-level claims.
