A recent poll highlights potential Democratic front-runners for the 2028 presidential nomination, with Kamala Harris leading in voter support while Gavin Newsom is favored on Kalshi's betting odds market.

A new poll released on Friday has revealed the preferences of Democratic voters for the 2028 presidential primary race. The poll, conducted by Focaldata on February 10, 2026, surveyed 1,148 voters. It indicates that Kamala Harris is the early favorite, securing 39% of respondents' support. Gavin Newsom follows with 21%, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez garners 10%. Pete Buttigieg and Josh Shapiro each received 7%, while Mark Kelly got 6%. Gretchen Whitmer polled at 4%, and JB Pritzker at 3%. Andy Beshear and Jon Ossoff both received 1%.

Another poll from Harvard/Harris showed similar results, with Harris at 39%, Newsom at 30%, and Ocasio-Cortez at 12%. Shapiro polled at 9%, and Pritzker at 7%. Kalshi’s betting odds market, however, favors Newsom with a 32% chance of victory, followed by Ocasio-Cortez at 9%. Harris, Ossoff, and Shapiro each have a 7% chance, Pritzker has 6%, and Buttigieg has 5%. Beshear, Whitmer, and Wes Moore each have a 4% chance.
