A Polymarket account associated with George Cottrell, a financier for Nigel Farage, received $8.8 million in cryptocurrency from unknown sources and placed bets on Donald Trump's election win. The account reportedly turned a profit of $4.46 million after the election.

The account, registered as 'GCottrell93,' received funds in late October 2024, including $7 million from OKX and $1.83 million from ChangeNOW, according to the Financial Times. Each deposit was immediately staked on Trump's victory, which resulted in significant profits. However, the identities of the funders and the recipients of the winnings remain unclear. Blockchain investigator ZachXBT has indicated a strong belief that the account is linked to Cottrell.
