
Watkins Jones' student accommodation project in Bristol has received approval to advance to the next construction phase. The development will transform a brownfield site into a community for students, located near key transport links and the University of Bristol.
The 484-bed purpose-built student accommodation scheme on Malago Road has passed Gateway 2, allowing construction to proceed. The project, a joint venture between Watkins Jones and Maslow Capital, began in early 2026 and aims for completion by the 2028 academic year. It will feature studio accommodations and non-ensuite rooms across three blocks, with part of the scheme operated under a nomination agreement with the University of Bristol. The development is targeting BREEAM Excellent, EPC B, and WiredScore Platinum ratings.
