Amazon has acquired Fauna Robotics, a startup focused on creating kid-size humanoid robots. This marks Amazon's second robotics acquisition this month.
Fauna Robotics, founded by former Meta and Google engineers, has been developing humanoid robots and began shipping its first product, the 59-pound bipedal robot named Sprout, earlier this year. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but Fauna's employees, including its founders, will join Amazon in New York City. An Amazon spokesperson expressed excitement about collaborating with Fauna to enhance customer experiences through robotics.
